In Between Limits

The last few days have been weird. I've been putting in my hands at $50 and getting my ironman points that way, but I've also been playing at lower limits for different reasons. I was making some changes to my stat programs and needed a table up while I fine tuned things, and I played at $10pl with a friend for another session.

At $50, I've been up and down like a yo-yo. I'm playing break even poker there through the past 4 or 5 days, just feel like I can't get anything going. For whatever reason though, I'm just KILLING it at the lower limits. In a couple of sessions (probably around 500 hands at each of 25 and 10 plo) I'm showing profits of over 50 ptbb/100. I know those are small sample sizes, but the results are just too vastly different from my regular game to ignore.

I don't know what change I'm making at the lower limits, I'll have to put in some more hands to get a true statistical picture of my tendancies, but I'm certainly open to finding out and hopefully bringing those skills to the higher limit games.

For right now, I almost have to stay playing $50 as my main game, especially in January with the Fulltilt Ironman bonus that I have to clear - but I really think I'll start mixing in some $25 for some sessions. I'm so overrolled for it that it's not even funny, but maybe that's what makes me open it up and get in more pots where I have an edge but may back off at the higher level.

We'll have to see...
